Yewtree is a single-storey modernist dwelling built of timber frame, timber cladding and glass.

There are large trees around the dwelling on three sides including, to the northwest, a wooded area.

The client is a self-builder restoring and improving the property in keeping with its modernist style. Chance de Silva assisted with the firming up of the clients’ design and obtained Planning and Building Control permissions, to add a partial second storey with two children’s bedrooms and study.

Timber was used for construction and cladding, with large areas of gazing, to create an extension in keeping with the adaptation of the existing house.
